The pineapple has long been a symbol of welcoming and hospitality, and also luxury. This beautiful pineapple lantern with an art deco feel will add elegance to your summer party or wedding. It can fold flat for sending as a housewarming gift or for any occasion where you want to spread warmth and hospitality. When flat, it can fit in an 8 1/2" x 11" envelope. When open it is 5 1/2" in diameter and 9 1/2" high. The luminary has a hole in the base so the receiver can place a flameless tea light inside. There is a blank space under the base to write a message. You can change the look by using different paper. Detailed instructions included.

MATERIALS:
2 sheets 8 ½” x 11” cardstock for pineapple
2 sheets 8 ½” x 11” vellum or paper for backing*
1 sheet 8 ½” x 11” cardstock for leaves- both sides will show**
1 sheet 6” x 6” cardstock for base
1 sheet 6” x 6” cardstock for base reinforcements
8 ½” x 11” envelope for mailing (optional) ***No envelope is included with this file.
1/8" double stick tape

*I used vellum for the backing of the gold pineapple in the photos, and regular white printer paper for the backing of the white cardstock pineapple.

** Both sides of the leaves will show, so if you are using a foil cardstock with a brown back, you may want to cover the back side with adhesive vinyl before cutting.
