3D pop-up surprise ball duckling for Easter or also great for a baby shower. I have become fascinated with surprise ball pop-ups because you can send an entire 3D object in a flat envelope. Includes a card with a cracked egg and flower to keep hatchling flat until the recipient opens it. Entire duck and card can fit in a 5 ½” square envelope (not included). You can watch the assembly video before purchase to see if it's within your skill level. Link is below.

INSTRUCTIONS: There are no written instructions for this item. You can see how to assemble on my YouTube channel here:

HOW TO USE MY FILES:
HAND CUTTERS: You will receive a PDF file with all pieces so you can cut by hand. Cut 1 of each. I suggest printing on the wrong side of your cardstock with a MIRROR image so you can cut and score directly on the cardstock. The score lines are marked with a dashed line.

CRICUT USERS (all machines except Joy): You will receive 7 SVG files in a Zip file. Cut 1 of each. You must change all black lines (or solid black shapes) to score lines. (There will only be 1 score object in each file.) You must also ‘attach’ everything that goes on the same mat together. There is also an SVG labeled ‘All Pieces’ so you can upload all pieces to your machine at once. Be sure to ‘ungroup’ to break up into the individual mats.

Currently (3/27/22), after the latest Cricut Update, design space is resizing some SVG files. It is usually large pieces with 1 score line. This affects the Right & Left Card pieces. Once they are in DS, keep the card and score lines grouped and the proportions locked, then change the width to 5.375” for each piece.

BROTHER SCAN-N-CUT USERS: You will receive 7 FCM files in a Zip file with score lines already changed to dashed lines. This is how I tested my sample, and it is quite durable. Cut 1 of each file.

CRICUT JOY USERS: You will receive 7 SVG files in a Zip file. For the Body pieces, cut your cardstock lengthwise so you have two 4 ½” x 11” pieces and two 4” by 11” pieces. You must use a 12” long mat. Cut 1 of each. The score lines have been changed to dashed cut lines, so you don’t need a scoring stylus. This is how I tested my samples, and they are quite durable. You must ‘attach’ the dashed lines to the pieces that go on the same mat together. There is also PDF telling you how to join the large duckling pieces before following the video for assembly. The only pieces you can’t cut are the card pieces. I suggest you use the PDF for those pieces and cut by hand. Also included is an SVG labeled ‘All Pieces’ so you can upload all pieces to your machine software at once. Be sure to ‘ungroup’ to break up into the individual mats.

SILHOUETTE USERS: I’m sorry, I don’t know the specifics of how to work with a Silhouette machine. I assume you can use the zip with SVGs as the Cricut users do. Please let me know if that is not correct.

ZIP FILES: Please note you must double click and extract files from the Zip files before uploading to your machine software.

MATERIALS (for 1 card):
2 sheets 8 ½” x 11” cardstock for duckling
Half sheet 8 ½” x 11” orange cardstock
1 sheet 8 ½” x 11” white cardstock
2 sheet 8 ½” x 11” cardstock for card
Small scrap of cardstock for eyes
1 piece 6” x 6” green cardstock for leaves
16” piece of 1mm beading elastic
Glue

I used 65lb cardstock for my samples and the video. 80lb would also probably work fine.
